[I-59] Examination on measurement accuracy of Bridge-Weigh-In-Motion using MEMS acceleration sensor
Keywords:Bridge-Weigh-In-Motion, MEMS acceleration sensor, Road bridge, Vehicle weight measurement, Axle, Matt scale
In steel road bridges, the number and weight of large vehicles are the main causes of fatigue damage. As a method of estimating the vehicle weight of real traffic, BWIM measurement using a strain gauge is generally performed. This paper verifies the accuracy of weight estimation and axis number detection of the vehicle by BWIM system using MEMS acceleration sensor which is excellent in workability. As a result of verification, accurate weight estimation results were obtained by single vehicle running. In addition, in the accuracy verification of the number detection of the axis for vehicles of 25 ton or more, it was found that the detection accuracy is 90% or more for 5-axis cars or less.
