[I-61] Seismic Response Analysis of the Bridge System Considering Deformation of Backside of Abutment
Keywords:Abutment back ground, Passive resistance, Ground deformation, Dynamic interaction
In the seismic design of the bridge system, attempts have been made to actively use the ground reaction force. On the other hand, in the back of the abutment, not only passive resistance, but also active earth pressure due to ground deformation can be considered. Then, the influence of the backside of the abutment was examined by seismic response analyses.
As a result, the following things became clear. 1) There is a possibility of rational design by appropriate modeling, 2) In some cases, the design may be dangerous if the backside of the abutment is not considered, but the degree is small, 3) The method of considering only passive resistance may overestimate the influence of the backside of the abutment.
