Trial to evaluate the water level at just upstream of the broad-crested weir is done in order to give the boundary condition for water surface profile of the river in which weir(s) is/are constructed. Relation of h/hc and hc/L is formulated for free fall flow, relation of h1/h and h2/hc is formulated using conventional definitions.
