[II-174] An application of the flood water level prediction system without runoff analysis for Yoshino River
Keywords:Yoshino River, flood water level prediction system without runoff analysis, error of discharge observation, realtime flood water level prediction
Recently water disaster caused by a typhoon is intensified, and there are many opportunities for local governments to issue evacuation advisory caused by heavy rain or an increase of river water level. News media and local people are taking a growing interest in information service about water level prediction, which helps the decision of evacuation.
This study considers applicability and problem of the flood water level prediction system for Yoshino River, which predicts flood water levels by directly through rain and water levels of the upper river basin without runoff analysis.
