[II-56] An assessment of the impact on businesses when enhancing the speed of a tsunami analysis code and the errors that accompany it

Against the backdrop of measures to cope with the risk of impending tsunamis, preparing tsunami analysis for popular use has become imperative. The study described herein involved verifying whether enhancing the speed of a tsunami analysis code will have an impact on the calculation time and results when improved by vectoring for use concurrently with conventional methods. Vectoring the analysis code was determined to have a significant effect on shortening the calculation time, but the results were found to differ according to the source of waves to be analyzed.
