[III-17] Mechanical Joint with Small Rotation Design for Steel Pipe Piles and Steel Pipe Sheet Piles
(2:Evaluation of Construction Performance)
Keywords:steel pipe pile, steel pipe sheet pile, site joint, mechanical joint, threaded joint, vibratory hammer and hydraulic pipe hammer
A mechanical joint that is a threaded joint with small rotation design is developed for site joint of steel pipe piles and steel pipe sheet piles. Capable of securely tightening steel pipe piles and steel pipe sheet piles with minimal play, the mechanical joint achieves stable, high-quality couplings and greatly shortened construction time by eliminating the need for on-site welding. In this report, a jointing test with steel pipe sheet pile and trial construction using a hydraulic pipe hammer and a vibratory hammer were conducted. As a result, jointing could be completed in a short time and applicability of joint for pipe-driving using a hydraulic pipe hammer and a vibratory hammer was evaluated.
