[III-211] Stress analysis of embankment considering external water level fluctuation

Reason of embankment destroyed by rainfall is overflow, erosion, permeation. Depending on the rising speed of the water level, there is a possibility of occurring collapse in rising process. In this study, to clarify the embankment collapse mechanism the analysis was performed using a unsaturated soil/water/air coupled element finite method analysis program (DACSAR-MP). From analysis results, it could be confirmed collapse because changed decrease in strength, volume compression, be saturation. If the water level rises slowly, probability of occurring collapse is high. Further there is possibility of occurring piping because formed water road.
