Long face bolts are used in mountain tunnels in Japan. However, by reinforcing the front of the face, release stress at the face may be rapidly generated during excavation, and there may be concerns about an increase in ground displacement and influence on the support material.
This report describes the tencile test results of the "displacement tracking type long face bolt" developed to solve such problems and the examination results on the "crestless effect" on the face front ground by three-dimensional numerical analysis.
