This paper outlines numerical analysis on heaving of roadbed caused by The 2011 Earthquake and effect of aseismic countermeasure work.
JR East has been conducting aseismic countermeasure work to prevent the similar damage. Authors performed numerical analysis of roadbed heaving and effectiveness of countermeasure work, considering the structural properties of tunnels and geological properties of ground around tunnels.
The proposed analytical method could simulate the characteristics of damaged roadbed. And, authors confirmed that installations of rock bolts into roadbed are effective to prevent seismic damage of roadbed, and defined the principle specifications of rock bolts.
