[III-308] Influence of fines generated by particle crashing on undrained behavior
of sand
Keywords:sand, steady state, particle crashing
Particle crashing during shear has a significant impact on the steady state of sand. the undrained shear behavior without particle crushing was predicted using the existing sand constitutive law, and compared with the case with particle crushing. As a result, the amount of fine particle generation due to particle crushing during shear is in a linear relationship with work per unit volume for vertical deformation. From the comparison of constitutive law, it can be quantitatively expressed that the shear resistance during undrained shear deformation and the strength at steady state decrease by particle crushing.
