[III-309] The particle shape effect on steady state line
Keywords:sand, particle shape, steady state
The damage occurred during the 1964 earthquake in Niigata, has brought Liquefaction into public focus. Steady state shows the static mechanical property of sand, and play an important role on prediction Liquefaction.
This study is focus on the particle shape effect on steady state line. Using the self-made application to quantitative assessment the shape of sand from two-dimensional Color image, perform the triaxle compression test for nine kinds of sand including natural sands and glass beads. And evaluate the concern with slope and intercept of stead state line and particle shape.
In addition, the slope and intercept of stead state line is decrease with the particle shape close to sphere.
