[III-433] Unsaturated Shear Charactristic of Volcanic Soils taken from Landslide of Atsuma town in Hokkaido Eastern Iburi earthquake
Keywords:Unsaturated triaxial compression test, Extremly loose soil, Volcanic soil, Particle crushing, Pumice
The Hokkaido Eastern Iburi earthquake (Mw = 6.6), which occurred on September 6, 2018, caused numerous landslides and slope failures in a shallow layer in a wide range on the Yufu-gun and Asuma town near the epicenter.
A field survey was conducted on October 12 after the earthquake. At the site, a flow of about 150 m was generated with a gentle slope of about 10 degrees, and volcanic pumice layers and cohesive soil layers were observed on the slip surface. In this paper, basic physical tests were carried out on several samples collected, and the unsaturated CU test was carried out on the reddish brown pumice pumice layer to investigate the behavior at the water content ratio in situ.
