コンクリート構造物内の鉄筋等の防食の予防保全のために，部材表面にアルミニウム，亜鉛およびインジウムからなる擬合金を犠牲陽極金属として溶射で吹付けて電気的に保護する工法を開発し，高速道路橋の橋台への試験施工を行った．施工後3年間のモニタリング結果と3年後の鉄筋の掘削調査の結果から，電気防食が鉄筋周辺の環境に応じて適切に作用し，溶射施工後の新しい錆の発生や既存の腐食部分の進行を抑制していることを確認した。
