[V-200] Application of PRESS System to Plant Structure

In gas processing plant project in Indonesia, Precast Seismic Structural Systems, herein after called PRESS system, was applied at the connection for precast beam. A key feature of this system are grouted bars which are deliberately debonded and tendon which is designed to remain elastic during earthquake. This report provides an overview of PRESS system and analyzes pros and cons for applying the system to plant structure. Even though there are many points to consider due to few application cases, the schedule merit or cost merit due to the decrease of construction work at site is expected.
