[V-324] Corrosion behavior on application of cement-based paint to anti-corrosive undercoating at corner of steel
Keywords:anti-corrosion, cement-based paint, blast furnace slag mixed cement, undercoating, passivation
In steel structures, the paint coating thickness at corners of the steel members tends to become much smaller than that of general flat parts. The authors have investigated application the blast furnace slag mixed cement-based paint as anti-corrosive undercoating at the corner. This paints passivates the base material by maintaining the steel members in an alkaline environment. In this study, conducted flexibility test, it was confirmed that the adhesion between the substrate and the coating was good and also results of corrosion accelerated test was founded the corrosion protection performance was improved.
