[V-496] Research on the wetting expansion characteristics of concrete during water supply curing
Keywords:water supply curing, wetting expansion, drying shrinkage, mass reduction, analysis
Water supply curing is ideal because concrete absorbs water and hydration proceeds more reliably. It is clear that the water absorption far exceeds the volume reduction due to hydration shrinkage. It is thought that this is because the cement gel absorbs water and causes wet expansion. If it is moistened and expanded by the water supply curing, compressive stress is accumulated in the surface layer, and it is expected to suppress the initial cracking. In this study, we conducted experimental investigations for the purpose of grasping the moisture expansion characteristic and the drying shrinkage reduction effect by water supply curing.
