[VI-574] Stress Analysis of a Steel Deck Structure for RC Deck Replacements Leaving Original Decks on Girder Flanges
Keywords:Deck, Replacement, Steel deck, Fatigue free, Finite element analysis
Concrete removal works from top surfaces of girder flanges delay the construction periods of RC deck replacements and are sources of the environmental problems such as vibrations and noises. To make the construction speedy and clean, authors are proposing the method to replace RC decks with steel decks with leaving original deck concretes on the girder flanges. This paper conducted finite element analysis of the steel deck and the existing girders and confirmed that working stresses on the structures were allowable.
