港の近くで大規模な都市開発が計画され、都市機能を有効にする為、中央を分断している鉄道貨物線直下を立体交差する道路が必要となった。海抜０ｍ地域で、躯体の土被りを最小にし、長大列車間合いを活用した工事桁仮設による開削工法としたが、工事桁との離隔が殆ど無く、函体を隣接箇所で構築後、鉄道直下に牽引移動とした。しかし、確実性や工期短縮等の必要から、基本に戻り、発想を転換、リスクを軽減、長大列車間合を活用し、抜本的に工法を見直して工事桁直下での函体構築や、特殊鋼材加工、矢板打設、掘削等の複数施工等により工期を短縮した。
