[VI-987] Case study of geotechnical risk responsibility between Employer and Contractor in soil improvement work in overseas project

This paper introduces a highway construction project in Sri Lanka and the geotechnical risk allocation between Employer and Contractor of its project. From Contractor’s point of view, Contractor’s actions taken to avoid actualizing those risks is also presented. While the Contractor taking the geotechnical risk, under the unique contract where the Contractor shall select the most appropriate among the soil improvement patterns prepared by the Employer in advance, those risks were properly shared by both parties. As a result, both parties successfully completed without troubles.
