It is thought that the noise generated by the vibration of the structure when traveling on the Shinkansen is less influential on the railway side because the noise level is smaller than the noise generated from the vehicle. However, if the measures to reduce vehicle-induced noise are sufficiently implemented, the noise caused by the structure may become relatively high, so it is important to grasp the characteristics of the structure sound.
In this report, noise and vibration measurements were made at two locations near the RC rigid frame viaduct where the Shinkansen runs. As a result, it was confirmed that there was a clear correspondence between vibration and noise on the underside of the viaduct slab.
