[VII-31] Laboratory Study on Technique for Preventing Diffusion of Cyanogen Contaminated Groundwater
Keywords:Cyanogen, Groundwater, Contamination, Preventing Diffusion, Bioremediation
Groundwater in some sites of metal plating factory etc. is contaminated by cyanogen. Pumping up contaminated groundwater could be applied for preventing diffusion of it. But pumping up groundwater is needed for water treatment facility. The developed technique is a low-cost technique that both a sustained release microbial nutrient and a cyanogen insolubilization agent are injected in wells without on-site facility. Laboratory tests showed that this technique can prevent diffusion of cyanogen contaminated water which is more than the volume of 10 years groundwater flow by a guideline of Ministry of the Environment. This technique also can continue by additional injection of a microbial nutrient.
