[CS14-16] Implementation of CIM for Kobe-Nishi Bypass Project: Effect and Challenges to Introduce for Road Design using Three-Dimensional Data
Keywords:CIM, 3-D road design, Productivity improvement, Kobe-Nishi-Bypass, i-Construction
This paper presents the effects and challenges of 3-D road design based on 3-D topographic survey. One of the advantages of 3-D road design is that it makes much easier to imagine the constructed shape of the road. Actually, a design error was found out from the 3-D model, while the error was overlooked from the 2-D plan. Furthermore, the 3-D model helped to investigate whether a road structure should be changed from earthwork to a bridge by comparing constructed images with plan and vertical alignments, workability and construction costs. On the other hand, several challenges were also confirmed.
