[CS3-09] Consideration and Case Study for a New Type of Bridge Drainage system

Bridge drainage system has not been improved for quite a long time. Many drain pipes ruin the bridge landscape. Steel gutter type of drainage system along the curb stone has maintenance problem.
The author examined drainage gutters attached to the outside of the bridge slab as a drainage device that would not damage the bridge landscape.
Pre-cast high performance concrete gutter with CFCC(Carbon-Fiber Composite Cable) was designed as a drainage system for a long span PC Box girders crossing the river near the sea. Gutter is also available as a maintenance utility space with a weather resistant FRP grating.
