[CS3-18] Design of Bessodani bridge as an implementation of ultra-high durable bridge (Dura-Bridge)
Keywords:Dura-Bridge, High strength fiber reinforced concrete, Aramid FRP rod, Precast segment
In recent years, the performance of concrete bridges in Japan has been significantly reduced due to salt induced deterioration caused by deicing agents and airborne salt particles near the coast. Therefore, studies are been carried out about ultra-durable bridges using materials that do not corrode. Until now, a new fiber reinforced concrete was developed and the design method was established through structural experiments. In addition, a pilot bridge was constructed, and the safety and durability of the structure have been revealed through monitoring for about two years. This paper mentions the design of the Bessodani-Bridge, which was implemented as the world's first ultra-durable bridge.
