[CS5-05] Concrete model parameter estimation from uniaxial compression tests through sequential data assimilation using digital image correlation and finite element analysis
Keywords:Data Assimilation, Digital Image Correlation, Concrete, Uniaxial Compression Test, Finite element method, the ensemble Kalman filter
A model parameter estimation method is established for a 3-D finite element analysis by combining the 3-D digital image correlation method (3D-DIC) and the ensemble Kalman filter, a sequential data assimilation technique. The method is applied to uniaxial compression test of cylindrical concrete specimens with different boundary conditions. The parameters related to material properties and boundary condition are estimated. The surface strain distributions obtained by two stereo camera systems in two directions with simultaneous 3D-DIC were used for the observation. The effectiveness of this method was verified by twin experiments and comparison with real observational data.
