This paper presented a feasibility study for slight damage detection by an experiment of a full-size prestressed concrete girder. The results show that simulated slight cracks, where residual width is about 0.1-0.3mm, is able to detect. Furthermore, an algorithm was developed to estimate the long-term deformation of structures from the tilted angle of accelerometers. The estimated displacement showed good agreement compared with recorded experimental displacement. This technique may be applicable in monitoring long term deformation such as foundation settlement, concrete creep in bridges.
