As a method of removing the deteriorated paint in repainting work, application of a high frequency induction heating technique with less generation of noise and dust is being noted. However, if excessive deformation or residual stress is generated in the member due to high-frequency induction heating, there is a concern that the load carrying capacity of the structure will be decreased. In this study, a series of experiments and numerical simulations are carried out to search for the work conditions of paint coating removal by induction heating.
