[I-359] STUDY OF FLOW AROUND COMPLEX SHAPED TALL STRUCTURE

In this study, flow fields around the complex-shaped structure, especially a statue, are calculated using large eddy simulation (LES) and compared with those of a circular cylinder. The logarithmic wind profile was utilized in accordance with the Myanmar National Building Code (MNBC). Calculations were made for a total of five cases, 0 deg (S1), 5 deg (S3), 50 deg (S5), 90 deg (S6) and circular cylinder. Simulations results of circular cylinder are checked and verified with other researchers' works. According to the results, it is found that flow fields around the statue are quite different from that of the circular cylinder.
