We are developing a seismic retrofitting method which improve deformation performance without changing the cross-sectional dimensions by replacing of the cover of existing RC bridge pier that plasticize during an earthquake with a cast-in-place ultra-high-strength fiber-reinforced mortar including crack-inducing joints. In this study, we carried out cyclic loading tests of RC pier model specimens reinforced by this method to verify the effect of improving deformation performance. As a result, it was confirmed that the deformation performance of RC column members was improved by about 40% by reinforcing with this method.
