[I-308] Relationship between modal properties and structural performance of a prestressed concrete girder bridge
Keywords:PC bridge, load capacity test, Structural health monitoring, Vibration characteristics, FE analysis
This study aims to examine how changes in load resistance capacity of a PC girder bridge influence on their dynamic properties through a field experiment. In the static loading test, the PC girder bridge was put under several loading and unloading levels until failure. The impact test was carried out along the static loading test. Finite element analysis was also conducted to discuss the relationship between structural performance and modal properties in detail. Observations showed strong relationships between the 2nd bending modal frequency and structural performance, which indicates the usefulness of the 2nd bending mode in vibration-based bridge health monitoring for PC bridges.
