[I-127] Experimental study on Developing High-Performance Buckling-Restrained Brace with Notched Core Bars
Keywords:Buckling-Restrained Brace, Cyclic loading experiment, High-performance
In this study, in order to develop a type of Buckling-Restrained Brace (BRB) which has higher deformation performance than the conventional BRB, a new type of BRB with Notched Core Bars was devised, and performance experiments were conducted. In the experiment, the behaviors of the core members with different number and layout of notch were clarified by conducting incremental displacement cyclic loading tests. Furthermore, influences affected by main parameters (ratio of the clearance to minimum section height D, number of the notched part N, slenderness ratio of each notched part λ) were evaluated. As a result, recommended values for the structural parameters were obtained.
