[II-239] COUNTERMEASURES AGAINST SEDIMENT DAMAGE IN SEDIMENT BASINS
Keywords:experiment, debris flow, sediment basin, sediment and flood damage
To mitigate flood damage caused by outflows of bed load and debris wood in the lower reaches of rivers, improvements to existing sediment basin design are required. To determine how best to improve the transport and capture of sediment in sediment basins, we were experimented for quantifying changes to sediment basin structure during debris flows using a water tank scale model. To demonstrate the utility of this method, we show the effects of flow conditions within the sediment basin on the sediment transport function.
