[II-86] Estimation of dispersion process of splashes generated at a vertical seawall
Keywords:splases caused by wave-overtopping, Hydraulic model experiment, visualised experiment, image analysis technique, Wave-making tunnel
In Japan, seawalls have been constructed at many places along coastlines in order to protect coastal areas from high waves. Violent splash run-ups, however, are sometimes generated at the front face of the coastal structures by intense incoming waves. Such sea water splashes are dispersed landward and cause severe salt damage. Yamashiro et al. (2017) developed a measuring method of splashes caused by wave-overtopping in the model experiment using a wind-wave flume. In this study, we conducted a more detailed study focusing on the particle size using the above method. As a result, we obtained knowledge on estimating the dispersion process.
