The tunnel in this report is to improve traffic at the foot of the mountain in green tuff area which is being constructed in Fukushima Prefecture. The main tunnel face geology is lapilli tuff, and preliminary survey confirmed the presence of smectite, an expansive mineral.
In this report, we report an example of the investigation corresponding to the deformation during construction.
