Roadbed subsidence of railway tunnel leads to track deformation. This phenomenon is considered to be due to the formation of cavity. Therefore, it is desired to detect cavity in early stage and immediately take countermeasures such as grouting. This study assesses the applicability of ground-penetrating radar system to cavity investigation. The result shows radar survey can detect cavity and gravel layer under roadbed which is confirmed through boring survey . Also, radar survey carried out before and after grouting shows the disappearance of reaction, which means filling of cavity. This research contributes to prompt detection of roadbed subsidence and assessment of countermeasures.
