[III-263] Application of Finite Element Analysis on Consolidating Alluvial Clay during Reclamation Work

〇Yohei Usuki1, Yoshikatsu Ogawa1 (1.Kiso-Jiban Consultants Co., Ltd.)

Keywords:Finite Element Analysis, Consolidation Settlement, Field Measurement, PVD, Reclamation

A finite element code "PLAXIS" is widely applied to estimation of wall deflection and ground movement during soil excavation in Southeast Asia including Singapore. On the other hand, settlement evaluation based on one dimentinal analysis is still most common in those country. This paper compares the result of settlement anlysis using PLAXIS and field measurements carried out in a ground improvement work consisting of both surcharge filling and PVDs in Bangladesh.
