[III-352] Influence of sampling resolution on joint roughness evaluation employed two different methods
Keywords:joint roughness, root mean square, initial surface, sheared surface, profiling resolution
This paper adopts both low- and high-resolution sampling machines that are laser scanner and pattern projection, respectively, to digitize the entire granite joint surfaces. As a result, it is confirmed that the Z2 value of each profiling line obtained from pattern projection, compared with the laser scanner, is closer to the average Z2 value. In addition, both two kinds of profiling data show that 1.0 mm sampling interval is the most appropriate to evaluate the joint roughness of initial granite surface. For the sheared joint surface, the declining trend of JRC values is observed only in the high-resolution digital data. However, neither of them can accurately predict JRC values of the sheared surface.
