In urban areas of Japan, there is an intermediate area between public space and private space. The purpose of this study was to clarify the location of the beginning of the intermediate region and which components influence its formation. As a result, the starting position of the intermediate area was composed of six elements: "activity", "product", "chair / desk", "signboard", "awning", and "site boundary". In addition, the position where the intermediate region started was evaluated by virtual behavior.
