Keywords:Slope, Physical burden, Traffic behavior

This paper presents a method to explain the impact of the physical burden caused by gradient on traffic behavior. The method was validated using revealed preference data to clarify the applicability of analysis of traffic behavior. The result showed that the heart rate method was sufficiently capable of measuring body load on a gradient. Moreover, even in the same distance zone from a train station, the frequency of station use decreased with increasing physical load due to going up and down, especially for people 70s and over.
