[IV-169] Environmental Impact Simulation in Future City Considering Tsunami Countermeasures

〇Jun Sakamoto1 (1.Kochi University)

Keywords:future population estimation, estimated tsunami inundation area, tsunami countermeasures, environmental impact, housing choice

The estimated tsunami inundation area in the coastal region of Japan was changed since the regional development laws to prevent tsunamis was enforced in 2012. This study aims to clarify the impact of Tsunami countermeasures on carbon emission reduction in future city. The city of Kochi, Japan, of which the majority of the city’s downtown was estimated to be inundated in the event of a tsunami, was selected as a case study. First, a housing choice model was developed based on the stated preference by the questionnaire survey. Then, future population was estimated with and without tsunami countermeasures. Finally, carbon emission was estimated by the future population.
