本研究では、教養と土木の関係性について論じ、土木に関連した教養の獲得方法の考察を通じて、よりよい土木のあり方に資する知見を得ることを目的としている。様々な文献における教養の定義を整理し単なる知識ではない教養が示す広範な概念を整理するとともに、土木と教養との関係性を論じる。また教養獲得のために想定される手法と教養を獲得する対象について整理し、その一手法としての漫画の活用可能性について具体例を通して考察する。
