Anchor bolts are one of the anchoring methods for wind turbine tower foundation. The design bolt tension force is specified in consideration of the effect of operational loads and seismic loads. On the other hand, onshore wind turbine generator size is growing, and the load acting on anchor bolts are also increasing. In this paper, 3D FE analysis has been performed to quantitatively evaluate the effect of loads acting on anchor bolts including anchor bolt tension force on foundation concrete and grout via the base plates and anchor plates. Through this analysis, proof stress and fatigue strength against local compressive and tensile forces has been validated.
