[V-647] Fundamental Study on Size Effect of Shear Strength for RC Deep Beams and RC Short Beams

In this study, the shear load carrying mechanism of RC beams was clarified, and the size effect of shear strength was experimentally investigated. Past experimental results were incorporated to see the effect of the size effect. Image analysis was performed using a digital camera to investigate the generation and propagation of oblique cracks due to loading. The ultimate purpose of this experiment is to compare the difference between the size effect of a healthy sample and the size effect of an alkali-silica-reacted sample. Therefore, this study first clarified the size effect of shear strength for RC deep beams and RC short beams.
