[V-475] The effect of tack coat adhesion on the durability of composite pavement

〇Takato Tsuchiya1, Hiroki Imai1 (1.TAIYU KENSETSU)

Keywords:tack coat, adhesion, composite pavement, reflection crack, blistering

In order to prevent reflection cracks, which are a typical failure of composite pavement, the use of asphalt mixture with high flexibility as a surface layer or a stress absorbing membrane interlayer has attracted attention as one of the measures.

However, if the adhesion between the surface asphalt mixture and the concrete slab is insufficient, reflection cracks easily occur. Furthermore, the blistering may occur due to the presence of water vapor in the pavement.

Therefore, in this study, we examined the effect of tack coat adhesion on these two failures, and clarified that tack coat adhesion is important for ensuring the durability of composite pavement.
