In the noncontact acoustic inspection method using acoustic irradiation induced vibration and LDV, there is a possibility that remote shallow underground exploration can be performed by using acoustic irradiation induced vibration from UAV. In this study, we conducted a basic study for this technology by acoustic irradiation from UAV. In the experiment, a flat speaker was placed on a fixed base, and the vibration velocity distribution was measured using LDV. Experimental results show that the detection frequency is inversely proportional to the size of the buried object, and that the detection frequency does not change at a depth of 10 mm or more.
