[V-492] Study on evaluation parameter of cracking resistance for asphalt concrete in semi-circular bending tests

The authors have studied the semi-circular bending test in order to evaluate the crack resistance of asphalt concrete at normal temperatures using a simple test method. The test specifications were determined with versatility first by referring to the standards of European CEN and US AASHTO, and some previous studies. However, an appropriate evaluation parameter to be obtained as a test result has to be discussed. In the present study, growth rate during crack formation process was focused and an effective evaluation parameter for the SCB test was examined. The result showed that the slope of the load-displacement curve after the peak value was a promising parameter.
