開削トンネルの健全性は，漏水や浮き・はく離を順次補修することによって維持される。しかし，一度標準工法として定められた工法は東京地下鉄株式会社では長年更新されておらず，新材料が導入されていなかった。そこで，断面修復工を対象として，箱型トンネルに適した補修方法を選定するために，要求性能および評価項目を定義し，躯体コンクリートの劣化状況を考慮した補修方法の評価方法を考案した。加えて，実施工に導入する運用の流れを確立するに至った。これにより，迅速に新技術を導入できるようになった。
