It has been confirmed by wheel load running tests etc. that the lightweight RC slab combined with expansion material can reduce the weight by up to about 20% compared to the ordinary RC slab and has the same or higher fatigue durability. However, in the wheel load running test, the time and progress of crack initiation and the process of fracture after cracking are different from those of ordinary RC slabs, and the mechanism of fatigue fracture inside has not yet been elucidated. In this study, the tension stiffening effect, which is one of the important constitutive rules in the analysis of the fatigue durability of RC slabs, is experimentally obtained for lightweight concrete with expansion material.
