When performing repair work on cable tunnels and the like, it is desirable to have a compact device that efficiently chips the cracks and peelings of the degraded concrete which were caused by the corrosion of the steel of the reinforced concrete without causing damage to the power cables. Meanwhile, it is a well-known fact that micro-cracks occur when chipping the concrete with a blowing method. In this article, we would like to introduce our findings of experiments regarding the occurrence situations and the effects of micro-cracks caused by representative chipping devices.
