At Tokyo Outer Ring Road Tomei Junction “A” Ramp worksite, a mass concrete box culvert structure of 11.8m high, and 1.51.8m wall thickness is being built (Figure1).
In order to prevent the apparition of mass concrete cracks due to hydration heat, a list of countermeasures based on a thermal stress analysis is reported.
